Winagamie Golf Course Officially Closed For The Season

Due to the snow last night and this morning, Winagamie has officially closed the golf course for the season.  We had hoped to stay open as long as possible, but unfortunately the weather has forced the early closure.  We still hope to apply the winter proctection chemicals if the snow should melt sometime in the next few days.  This will give the golfers better turf conditions when we open back up in the spring.   If the snow does melt, it will not change our status and we will remain closed for the season.  Once maintenance has applied the chemicals, it greatly reduces the effectiveness if we allow golf car and foot traffic on the course.  Thank you.

Upcoming Cross Country Meet

The 2018 Jakubek-Willems Invite Cross Country Meet hosted by St. Mary High School will be held on Tuesday September 4th at Winagamie Golf Course. The meet will be held on the Woodlands nine holes beginning at 4:00 pm and will be closed to golfers until completion. Golfers wishing to play on the Woodlands must be finished by 3:45 pm.

Golf Range is Now Open for the 2018 Season!

The golf range has officially opened for the season!  Unfortunately the golf course is not quite ready yet.

The weather has not been cooperating yet this spring and we need some warmer temperatures to get the frost out of the ground.  We are just as anxious as everyone else to get the course open so we can start playing some golf!   While our superintendent prepares for opening day, he is also evaluating the course conditions daily.  Keep checking here for the latest updates, as we will post opening times and dates as soon as we know them.  The Winagamie Golf Facebook page will also have the latest news posted as well.

Christmas Open House Saturday December 9th!

Please join us for our annual Christmas Open House at Winagamie Golf Course on Saturday December 9th from            12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  Stop by and enjoy free hours d’oeuvres, wine, beer, Christmas cookies and other holiday snacks.  All of our merchandise will be on sale including: clubs, balls, bags, shoes, apparel, hats and accessories.

2018 season passes will be available as well as Gift Certificates.  Come out to Winagamie Golf Course and enjoy some refreshments with friends and fellow golfers!

Sunday November 12th will be final day for golfing!

                          Winagamie Golf Course has set a closing date for the 2017 season.

Our final day of golfing will be Sunday November 12th.  Hopefully we will still have a few nice days before we shut it down for the season.  Once we close, our maintenance staff will be applying the winter chemicals to protect the turf during the cold winter months.  This application assists in protecting the grass from “snow mold” and lets us start the 2018 season in nice shape.  Thanks for the great 2017 season and we look forward to seeing you in 2018.  Watch the weather forecast and maybe you’ll be able to sneak in another round or two yet this year!

Reminder:  Daylight Savings ends this weekend, don’t forget to turn back the clocks Saturday night and enjoy the extra hour of sleep!
